To AA-216 From:North/South/East/West/Airport/Public Transportation

Directions to Lot 9 and then to AA-216

Using the directions to campus below, you will have arrived via Shane Dr. and Mills Rd. The lot 9 parking is your first left as you travel down Mills.

If you haven't received your parking pass, purchase a one day parking permit using four quarters from the red machine in the middle of Lot 9.

If you have a parking pass you can park in any space other than a handicapped space. If you purchased a permit, you can only park in the student areas (spaces that are not marked staff.)

Park there.

Follow the orange line to the Administrative Arts building, take the stairs to the left and you will come to room AA-216 (also on your left.)

Directions to Campus

From the North:
Hwy 4 or I-80 - Sacramento, Vallejo, Martinez, or Pinole

  1. Hwy. 4 to I-80 West
  2. I-80 west toward Oakland/San Francisco
  3. Exit at Hilltop Drive, get into the left lane.
  4. Turn left at Shane Drive (2nd stoplight)
  5. Follow Shane to bottom of the hill
  6. Turn right onto Mills
Detailed Directions
  • Take Hwy. 4 west to I-80, and get on I-80 toward Oakland.
  • Take the Hilltop Drive Exit (you'll see the pink Courtyard by Marriott off to the right at that exit.)
  • Get into the left lane; go through the first stoplight (Blume Drive) to the second stoplight (Shane Drive), where you will see a large theatre marquee on the right and an Oil Changers on the left. This is Shane Drive.
  • Turn left onto Shane Drive. After the first stop sign, you will go about a mile through a residential area, to the bottom of the hill. Just past the church on the right side, at the stop sign, will be Mills Avenue.
  • Turn right onto Mills.

To AA-216 From:North/South/East/West/Airport/Public Transportation

From the South:
Oakland, Berkeley, or Richmond

  1. I-80 East toward Sacramento
  2. El Portal Drive exit from I-80, and turn left onto El Portal Drive
  3. Right onto Fordham Street
  4. Left onto Shane Drive, to stop sign
  5. Left onto Mills Avenue.
Detailed Directions
  • Follow I-80 East toward Sacramento, past Berkeley, Albany, El Cerrito and Richmond.
  • Take the El Portal Drive exit, which is the next exit after the San Pablo Dam Road exit.
  • There is a stoplight at the end of the off-ramp .
  • Turn left at this stoplight and go under the freeway straight through the second stoplight and continue for about half a mile.
  • There will be two more stoplights. At the second of these next two stoplights, you'll turn right onto Fordham Drive, into a residential area. (You can only turn right at Fordham, there is a wooded area on the left.)
  • Go to the second stop sign, which is a T-intersection.
  • Turn left onto Shane Drive. Go about two blocks to Mills Avenue, which is the first street on the left at the stop sign, between a large college parking lot and a new church.
  • Turn left onto Mills Avenue.

To AA-216 From:North/South/East/West/Airport/Public Transportation

From the East:
Walnut Creek, Concord, or Lafayette

  1. From Hwy. 24, take Orinda / Richmond exit. Stay on this road for about 10 miles to El Sobrante. Along the way, Camino Pablo becomes the San Pablo Dam Road.
  2. Stay on San Pablo Dam Road to El Portal Drive.
  3. Turn right onto El Portal Drive, though the first stoplight, under the freeway, and straight through the second stoplight. Continue for about half a mile.
  4. There will be two more stoplights. At the second of these next two stoplights, you'll turn right onto Fordham Drive, into a residential area. (You can only turn right at Fordham, there is a wooded area on the left.)
  5. Go to the second stop sign, which is a T-intersection.
  6. Turn left onto Shane Drive. Go about two blocks to Mills Avenue, which is the first street on the left at the stop sign, between a large college parking lot and a new church.
  7. Turn left onto Mills Avenue.
Detailed Directions
  • Take Hwy 24 West, toward Oakland.
  • Take the Orinda exit, follow signs toward Richmond (turn right)
  • Stay on Camino Pablo through Orinda, past the reservoir and into El Sobrante. (Camino Pablo becomes San Pablo Dam Road by the reservoir.)
  • You will go through the shopping district of El Sobrante, to the stoplight at El Portal Drive, (there is a Shell gas station on the right corner).
  • Turn right onto El Portal Drive, which curves to the left. In this area there is first a left-turn lane, then a right-turn lane. You don't want either; you want to keep going straight through the stoplight and under the freeway to the second stoplight (one is just before freeway and one is just past the freeway.) Continue west on El Portal to the fourth stoplight, which will be at Fordham Street.
  • From there, turn right onto Fordham Street into a residential area.
  • Go to the second stop sign, which is T-intersection. Turn left onto Shane Drive.
  • Go about two blocks to Mills Avenue, which is the first street on the left, at the stop sign, between a large college parking lot and a new church.
  • Turn left onto Mills.

To AA-216 From:North/South/East/West/Airport/Public Transportation

From the West:
Over the Richmond / San Rafael Bridge

  1. From the bridge, take the Castro Street exit; follow signs to the Richmond Parkway (under the freeway)
  2. Richmond parkway to San Pablo Avenue
  3. Right on San Pablo Avenue to El portal Drive
  4. Left onto El Portal Drive
  5. Continue past Castro Street
  6. Keep going on El Portal to the third stoplight at Fordham Street.
  7. Turn left onto Fordham, into a residential area.
  8. Go to the second stop sign, which is T-intersection. Turn left onto Shane Drive.
  9. Go about two blocks to Mills Avenue, which is the first street on the left, at the stop sign, between a large college parking lot and a new church.
Detailed Directions
  • After you have crossed the bridge, take the Castro Street exit from I-580, and follow the signs for the Richmond Parkway.
  • Follow the Richmond Parkway all the way to San Pablo Avenue (a stoplight intersection).
  • Turn right onto San Pablo Avenue.
  • Follow San Pablo Avenue for about a mile and a half, down the hill, to the fourth stoplight. This will be El Portal Drive. There should be a MacDonalds on the left side corner.
  • Turn left onto El Portal Drive. Go past the first quick left, past the college's baseball field on the left, and the shopping center on the right.
  • Continue past Castro Street, staying on El Portal Drive.
  • Keep going on El Portal to the third stoplight at Fordham Street.
  • Turn left onto Fordham, into a residential area.
  • Go to the second stop sign, which is T-intersection. Turn left onto Shane Drive.
  • Go about two blocks to Mills Avenue, which is the first street on the left, at the stop sign, between a large college parking lot and a new church.
  • Turn left onto Mills.

To AA-216 From:North/South/East/West/Airport/Public Transportation

From the Oakland Airport

  1. I-880 North (West) toward Oakland/San Francisco
  2. Watch for signs for I-80, San Francisco (West) or Berkeley/Sacramento (East)
  3. Follow the signs to I-80 East Berkeley/ Sacramento
  4. Stay on I-80 East through Richmond .
  5. El Portal Drive exit from I-80, and turn Left onto El Portal Drive
  6. Right onto Fordham Street
  7. Left onto Shane Drive, to stop sign.
  8. Left onto Mills Avenue.

  • From the airport, follow the signs for I-880 North (West) toward Oakland / San Francisco. Get onto I-880 toward Oakland.

Via Public Transportation

    BART

    El Cerrito Del Norte Station

      AC Transit #72 bus is the most direct to the campus. Buses leave at 15 to 20 minute intervals. Buses #71 and #76 also stop at CCC.
    Richmond Station

      AC Transit bus #71 bus is the most direct; it leaves every 30 minutes. Bus #76 also stops at the CCC campus.

    AC Transit

      There is an AC Transit Timed Transfer Stop on the Contra Costa College Campus, near the Student Association (SA) Building and the Vocational (VA) Building. This stop provides synchronized bus-to-bus or BART-to-bus transfers.

      AC Transit Bus lines that stop at the college are numbers: #69, #71, #72, #74, #76 and #78.

      BART Express lines #30Z, J &Q, and Vallejo Transit, stop at Hilltop Mall.
      From there you can Transfer to AC Transit #69, #72, or #74 which stop at Contra Costa College.
