Welcome to the official website of FIRST Robotics team 1151

Middle College High School in San Pablo, California, has entered into the annual FIRST Robotics competition by forming team 1151—the Hitchhikers. The majority of team 1151's members are sophomores, juniors, and seniors at Middle College, located on the Contra Costa College campus in San Pablo. The purpose of the Middle College robotics team is to help its members learn and understand scientific and engineering concepts and to build team- and group-work skills while having fun at the same time.

Team 1151 was formed in late 2002 and initially competed in a 2003 FIRST regional, where it won the school's first-ever trophy. Although the team did not qualify for competing in the international championship event in 2003, it did bring back the Xerox Creativity Award and amassed an incredible amount of knowledge on building a robot together. The members and affiliates of team 1151 look forward to the 2004 competition and will do their best to ensure placement in the championship.
