The Music Department at Contra Costa College

The music building is nestled in a beautiful creek-side setting on a hill in the east San Francisco Bay Area. Inside, in addition to classrooms, we offer a piano lab, practice rooms, an electronic music lab, and a music recital hall.

Piano Lab

A laboratory with eighteen digital sampled pianos and two acoustic pianos is available for practice by music students when the room is not used for class instruction.

Practice Rooms

There are twelve practice rooms in two corridors available for solo and small ensemble practice. Most of them have one acoustic piano; some have two.

Electronic Music Lab

Equipped with the latest technology and an assistant, this lab and recording studio is used for class instruction. Students enrolled in Music 128 or Music 130 can arrange to use the lab for class projects.

Music Recital Hall

Located within the Music Building, this room is used for day and evening recitals as well as vocal music classes.

This facility is used by various departments in the college. It is also available for public, individual, or group use.
