Meet Andrew Almacen, a CCC graduate from the class of 2016!

Some fast facts about Andrew:

  • Grew up in Pinole
  • Attended Ellerhorst Elementary, Pinole Middle and Pinole Valley High Schools
  • Studied at Contra Costa College from 2013 – 2016
  • At CCC, Andrew was a Student Ambassador, USDA Scholar, Anatomy Teaching Assistant, tutor (in calculus, statistics, chemistry, and anatomy) active at the Center for Science Excellence, and made the Dean’s List
  • Interned with the USDA and Amyris, a biofuel company
  • Graduated as a Presidential Scholar with a Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts, Science and Math, a STEM certificate, and a Pre-Allied Health certificate
  • Landed one of just ten open spots at the UCLA School of Nursing
