Early College Program Snags National Blue Ribbon Title, Again

Congratulations to Principal Finny Prak and the rest of the team at Middle College High School. State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond has once again named the school a National Blue Ribbon school.

Middle College is a collaboration between the West Contra Costa Unified School District and CCC. It allows high school students who have strong potential, but need a more challenging curriculum, to attend CCC as they finish high school.

When he announced the winners, Thurmond said of recipients, “Your commitment to fostering an inclusive and exceptional learning environment exemplifies the true essence of education. Your dedication inspires us all, and we celebrate your remarkable achievement.”

Schools are recognized based on the school’s overall academic performance or progress in closing opportunity gaps among student subgroups. The recognized schools are among the state’s highest performing based on all student scores, subgroup student scores, and graduation rates.
