Fall 2024 Academic Calendar

You’ll use academic calendars to find things like:

The last day to add a class to your schedule
The last to day drop a class to be eligible for a refund or credit against outstanding fees*
The last day to petition for pass/no pass grading
And, many other important dates you need to know.

Be sure to bookmark this page and put the dates important to you in your calendar!

(One important note: To find deadline dates for fast track / short term classes that last less than 18 weeks, you’ll need to check InSite.)

April 23-24	Group 1: Priority registration begins for EOPS/DSPS/Veterans/Foster Youth/CalWorks/Homeless Youth/Former Homeless Youth/Students w/Dependent children under 18
April 25	Group 2: Note takers, early graduation, athletes
April 26	Group 3A: Continuing students with 45-75 units
May 1-2	Group 3B: Continuing with 0-44.99 units and dual enrollment students
May 6	Group 3C: Recent matriculated high school graduates
May 7-8	Group 3D: Continuing students with 75.01-99 units
May 9	Group 3E: New matriculated and returning students with less than 100 units
May 10	Group 4: Continuing and returning students over 100 degree applicable units or on 2nd semester probation/dismissal
May 28-29	Group 5: New non-matriculated
June 17	Group 6: Concurrent high school students
July 4	Independence Day Holiday
July 8	Group 7: All regular college students open registration
August 26	First day of Instruction – Classes begin
August 30	Last day to add full-term class – in person
August 31 – September 1	No S/S Classes
September 2	Labor Day
September 6	Last day to drop full-term classes with eligibility for fee refund or credit
September 6	Last day to drop full term classes without a “W” appearing on transcript – in person
September 7-8	Fall S/S Classes begin
September 8	Last day to drop full term classes without a “W” appearing on transcript – online
September 8	Last day to add a full-term class – online
September 9	Census day
October 11	Indigenous People’s Day
October 15	Deadline to submit Graduation Petition for fall 2024 term (InSite>Graduation tile)
November 1	Graduation Petition for spring 2025 graduates available online (InSite>Graduation tile)
November 11	Veterans Day (Observed)
November 15	Last day to withdraw from a full-term course with a “W” appearing on transcript
November 18-19	Spring 2025 Priority registration for spring 2025 begins
November 28-29	Thanksgiving Holiday
November 30-31	No S/S Classes
December 6	Last day to request Pass/No Pass For full-term classes (See also Short-Term Class info below)
December 13	Last day of instruction
December 14-15	Fall S/S Classes end
December 18	Grades due for full-term classes (See also Short-Term Class info below)
December 20	Winter recess begins
December 20-Jan 1	Winter Recess / Holidays

*Registration fees are due at the time of registration. If you decide not to take a course, you will need to drop the course by the last day to be eligible or for a credit on your account to remove outstanding fees. If you do not drop the class by the deadline, you will be responsible for all outstanding fees even if you don’t complete the course.
