Public Health Science professionals work to prevent disease and promote wellness in communities—locally and globally. They study how health is shaped not only by biology, but also by social and environmental factors like race, gender, housing, food access, and income.

At CCC, you’ll explore the behavioral, biological, and social foundations of public health. You’ll learn how to educate and empower communities, connect people with resources, and take action against health disparities.

With an associate degree in public health, you can begin a meaningful career in clinics, outreach, or research—or transfer to a four-year university, including guaranteed CSU admission, to pursue advanced roles like epidemiologist, health educator, or physician.

Public Health Science is the science and practice of protecting and improving the health of people and their communities. It focuses on preventing disease, prolonging life, and promoting well-being through education, research, and policy—rather than just treating illness after it happens.

Public Health Science professionals work on the frontlines of wellness, tackling everything from chronic disease and mental health to environmental hazards and health equity.
