Scholarships are a financial resource provided to students by the generosity of the Contra Costa College Foundation, local businesses, community groups, alumni, and a variety of other private donors.
Scholarship funds help to assist students in paying for their higher education expenses when federal and state financial assistance is not enough.
Unlike loans, scholarship funds do not have to be paid back. The Contra Costa College Office of Financial Assistance encourages all students to apply for scholarship opportunities!

Types of Scholarships
For CCC Students Only
Scholarship funds are limited and usually awarded on a competitive and/or special criteria basis, such as GPA, academic major, or demonstrated volunteerism, leadership, or community service.
Because scholarships are a private educational resource, selections for recipients are usually made by the donor/organization based on these types of criteria.
The CCC Foundation Scholarships Application is open between November and February annually for the following academic year. Through this single application, you can apply for 100 different scholarships.
Before you get started on your application, make sure you have the following items handy:
1. Your InSite Portal log in
2. The email address for ONE reference from a Contra Costa College faculty/staff or other reference such as a teacher, professor, employer, counselor, or someone who has supervised your community/volunteer work.
3. Your unofficial CCCCD transcripts
The 2025-2026 CCC Foundation Scholarship Application is now open.
The Kennedy-King Scholarship was founded in memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Senator Robert F. Kennedy in 1968. It is an annual $6,000 per year scholarship awarded to students who plan to transfer to an accredited U.S. College or University and obtain a bachelor degree. To apply, students must: belong to a minority group underrepresented in the California College and University system, have completed at least 12 transferable units of course work from any of the Contra Costa Community College District campuses, and be eligible to transfer to a four-year college or university with junior standing.

External Scholarships
External Scholarships are funding opportunities offered by a donor, organization, business, or foundation outside of the Contra Costa College Foundation. These scholarships may be offered to students at the local, regional, statewide, or even nationwide level.
